Welcome to the train

Lennart ÖstmanSpaghettitrain is a ongoing musical project and ministry. I’m a composer from Sweden, and totally devoted to Jesus Christ. Here you can download free music as my seed into your life!

The music is progressive and mostly instrumental. It’s a mix of rock, baroque ‘n’ roll, folk music, symphonic music and a lot more.

Scroll down to read my blog, and check the music out at the “Download Music” section. New music will appear here from time to time, so be sure to check back for news.

If you like you can receive my newsletter and be notified when there is new music to be downloaded. If you like to keep up with the blog, just grab the feed!

Remote publishing

I’m trying out an app for publishing post from my phone. Seems to work just fine. One little toy that can help me active more frequent updates of the blog.

New DAW!

Sculpute

Sculpture is great for realistic string based instruments. From guitars to violas and a lot of experimental noises.

Just a quick line to let you know what’s up. I have bought Logic Pro 9 and are now hard at work to learn my ways around it. It’s a great program that will take my music to a new level. Right now I’m busy programming my own sounds for all the cool synths. Sculpture is one of my favorites!  I’ll be back with some new music as soon as I have any.

And here’s the video!

Animation made in ScopeWorks for Mac OSX.

Night Ride

I have a new song out in the Pool, called Night Ride. I originally had drums on this song but for once I actually listened to my wife and got rid of them. The song turned out much better without them, so I’m glad I did. Hm.. I wonder if there’s a lesson in this…..nah!

Anyway, with this song I continue my exploration of the baroque style, with my own twist. The base is one of my favorite instruments – the harpsichord. I hope you will enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoy writing it. I’m working on a video for youtube and will post it here eventually.

Fly by Faith video

This is the second video I have put on youtube. I do believe more will follow : ) The video is made in ScopeWorks and is an animation of a kaleidoscope of a photo of some colorful feathers.

The Warmth of Your Smile

This is my latest addition to The Pool. A video for this song can be found on youtube. I set it to animated fractals rendered in Oxidizer for Mac OSX. The rendering took a week to complete! I liked the result so I think I will put more of my old songs on youtube too. I have some ideas for video experiments…

If you want to download the song you can do so here

Fly by Faith

I have added a new song to the pool, and more songs will follow shortly. I have a bunch of stuff that I have left sitting because I though I needed something more. I did. I needed more distance to them so I could understand that they where really finished!

This is a piece for harpsichord and trumpet. No big arrangements, fireworks and whistles, but quite powerful in all its simplicity. I hope you’ll enjoy it!

New design

Kaleidoscope

A Kaleidoscope image made in ScopeWorks and edited in Aperture. Based on a photo of a kerosene lamp

Time to slip into something more comfortable! A new design, lighter and more beautiful. I hope you like it and find it easier to your eye. So, what else’s up? I’m working on the arrangement of a new song, and I’m not quite sure where it will go. I’m trying to break free from old habbits and find new ways to arrange.

Other than that I’ve been doing a lot of new photos and graphics on my flickr page. Right now I’m into Kaleidoscopes, based on specially prepared photos. The results are really fantastic and inspiring. You can see an example in this post.

As all Mac users I’m waiting for the release of OSX Lion. When it arrives I’ll be like a boy with a new toy. I can’t help it – I like technology!

I’ll get back when I have nailed the new arrangement.

New music in The Pool

Per & AnnikaJust a short notice that I have added a Wedding march for Per & Annika to The Pool.

If you’ve downloaded this before, do it again – it’s remastered!

Me – a certified Redneck!

I’ve been spending the last two days running around with a wheelbarrow, shoveling top soil in a garden my wife is designing and building. The sun has been real merciless and I have been at it 8 hours a day. So, as you can see from the photo, I am now a certified redneck! It’s a good thing that I’m old enough to have gotten over the need to be tanned and good looking, cause my neck and my back will not have the same colour for at least 6 month. Tomorrow I will probably have to wear a scarf in the middle of the summer.

My wife is working hard on giving a face to the boiled crayfish. I think I can give it a neck!
